Have you ever gone to a place where you can live with own, you feel your life in fulfillment where you can interact with God. Here we introduce the mountain town of India “Tawang”. Tawang is a place where you will lose your soul in nature. Tawang is the place of an Arunachal Pradesh.

It is placed at the east of Bhutan and is a place of Manopa people. The most important thing is that the 6th Dalai Lama Tsangyang Gyatso was born in Tawang. Tawang is located around 555 Km from Guwahati and 320 Km from Tezpur.

The nearest airport from Tawang is Saloni Bari airport in Tezpur and Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, Guwahati. To reach by road Tawang is 440 Km far from capital Itanagar.

Nuranang waterfalls:-

Nuranang waterfalls are located around just 40 km from Tawang town. Visiting Nuranang waterfalls at an elevation of around 6000 feet is considered to be one of the popular things to do in Tawang. Being one of the most stunning waterfalls in Arunachal Pradesh, Nuranang Waterfalls is a milky white waterfall that feels just like a dream.

Bumla Pass:-

Bumla Pass is a major destination between India and China, which is nearly 37 kilometers away from Tawang. This is a well-known adventure destination and is famous for its exquisiteness. Located at a height of 16,000 feet above sea level, this place offers some memorable moments for the travelers here.

Gorichen Peak:-

One of the popular activities in Tawang that is preferred by tourists is hiking at Gorichen Peak. Perched at an altitude of 22,500 feet, Gorichen Peak is the highest peak in Arunachal Pradesh and third highest in the Northeast.

This trekking track is blessed with an ideal atmosphere and a landscape to challenge the adventurer in you. Known to be a tough trekking destination, the peak offers beautiful 360-degree views of the surroundings.          

Tibetan settlement market & Dragon restaurant:-

Our trip to Tawang is not completed until we got to the local eateries and shopping. The Tibetan settlement market is the market or vihara markets the local market consisting of local shops and restaurant which sell traditions item which is meant to be.

You can very much satiate your desires for indulging in local cuisine and shopping for traditional clothes and gift item from here. If you taste local delicacies there is one and only Dragon Restaurant. All the food items served here are a perfect blend of the traditional North-Eastern food and the spicy influence of Monpas.

Tawang Monastery:-

Tawang Monastery is also known as the Gaden Namgyal Lhatse and it sits on the prick of a hill, about 10,000 feet above. It was founded by the Mera Lama Lodre Gyatso in accordance to the wishes of the 5th Dalai Lama; Nagwang Lobsang Gyatso.

The monastery gives you a great experience where people come to meditate which helps them to find inner peace. The environment of the monastery is so peaceful and calm that only sound you can hear is your beating heart and blowing wind.

Tawang War Memorial:-

Tawang War Memorial is a big 40-foot structure overlooking the Tawang-Chu Valley. The great Tawang War Memorial was constructed in commemoration of the sacrifices of great Indian Army soldiers who laid their lives to protect the nation during the 1962 Sino-Indian war.

The visitors can spot the names of the brave soldiers carved on granite plates and this memorial was also visited by Dalai Lama in 1997. The memorial is dedicated to 2420 brave soldiers who gave up their lives in the war at Kameng sector.
