Gramin Vikas Evam Chetna Sansthan is a non-profit social welfare organization that has been established in the year 1998, with the objective of rural developmental activities in the remote region of Barmer. The organization claims to focus on women empowerment, improving the lives of the Dalits as well as the underprivileged community people. This organization has been formed to facilitate a steady source of income for the women of this region who can work from home.


The organization believes that the development of the country is only possible if the all the section of the villages becomes aware of their active participation in the decision-making processes. Economic stability is very crucial to get rid of any form of discrimination in terms of caste or creed; rich or poor. With self-dependency, child education and economic stability, the people can achieve their social rights and decision taking in the meetings or discussions.

Gramin Vikas Evam Chetna Sansthan has always dreamt for a better future of the villages in India that will not have any kind of exploitation or deprivation. As a part of their wide range of developmental programs, the organization endorses the handmade product like bags, table covers, garments, wall hangings, and a wide variety of home décor items which are mainly crafted through embroidery, patchwork or appliqué cut work. The village artisans are trained skillfully, to produce the intricate handcrafts from the secured environment of their home. Thereafter, they can individually form small-scale enterprises or micro businesses to boost up their incomes.
