Coriander Seeds Or Chinese Parsley

In North America, the stems and leaves of coriander are usually called cilantro.  It is an annual herb of the family Apiaceae. Most people divine the taste of coriander leaves as a tart or a lime, but a group of few people think it tastes like bath soap. It is a soft plant growing to 50 cm (20in) tall. It is native to regions spanning from Southern Europe and Northern Africa to Southern – Western Asia .

Growing Conditions :

The time it takes to grow and harvest depends on weather conditions.  In warm, hot weather, cilantro plants are bolt & produces seed four to six weeks after planting. In cool spring weather, the plant might grow for several months before they produce seed.

Nutritional Value :

Cilantro or Coriander is a good source of fibre, manganese, iron and magnesium as well . Coriander leaves are also rich in Vitamin C, Vitamin K and protein. Thus, seeds of cilantro helps to fight from skin problems like eczema and rashes. In Ayurveda, it is often recommended for stomach related ailments.

Raw coriander leaves are having 92 % water, 4% carbohydrates, 2% protein, and less than 1% fat.
