Rasika

Must read

Rasika is a modern Indian restaurant that takes its cues from a traditional meal. You can choose from a variety of appetisers and dishes at Rasika to share with your dining companions. To enhance your experience, their sommelier will make an effort to pair your selected cuisine with appropriate wines.

For more than 30 years, Ashok Bajaj, the creator of the Rasika Group, has owned and run restaurants that have won awards in both the US and London. Bajaj, who was born in New Delhi, is referred as “a major force” in the fine dining sector by the Washington Post. He was listed as “arguably the most successful restaurateur in Washington” by the New York Times, and was also included in GQ magazine’s list of the “50 Most Powerful People in Washington.”

Vikram Sunderam, the executive chef who has worked with Rasika, has been nominated several times for Best Chef Mid-Atlantic by the James Beard Foundation and is a candidate for “Chef of the Year” by the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington.

Rasika won “Best New Restaurant” from the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington in 2007 under the careful supervision of Bajaj and Sunderam. In the same year, Zagat awarded it “Top New Restaurant” for the DC and Baltimore area. I know all these all information will not fill your empty tummy, so visit them and taste their Avacado banana chaat. But, before that have a look at their child and dress policy.

Child Policy & Dress Code: To respect the privacy & comfort of all dining patrons, they practice a restricted entrance policy allowing children only above 8 years of age. Smart Casual, no jacket is required; however, they respectfully request that their patrons refrain from wearing shorts, sandals, sleeveless shirts, and baseball caps. Athletic wear and torn clothing are also not permitted.
