In a significant crackdown on corruption, three private surveyors working with the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) in Mumbai have been apprehended for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 25,000. The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted a sting operation following a complaint lodged by a local resident. The accused surveyors were reportedly demanding the bribe to expedite the processing of slum rehabilitation documents. This incident has raised serious concerns about the integrity of the SRA’s operations and has prompted calls for stricter oversight and transparency in the rehabilitation process.
